The Best Workwear for the Office

Work Wear

One thing I used to have problems with was knowing what I could wear to work that would be appropriate for the office. Thankfully, I was in a business fraternity that taught me about workwear, but I began to realize that not everyone had the same resource I did. So, to help out my babes, I want to break down the best way to select your workwear.

Jewelry

The first place I would like to start is how to select the best jewelry for the office. Some people feel that their everyday jewelry is just fine to wear to work. If your anything like me, then your everyday earrings consists of Khloe Kardashian sized hoops and layered bangles.

Unless you work in a creative space, this isn’t the best selection for the workplace. In a corporate office, you want to aim for jewelry that is dainty or discrete. Nothing extremely flashy. What does this mean? Don’t select your large and obnoxious gold hoop earrings for your workwear, though you may want to. Small hoops such as the ones shown in the picture are perfect. You could even go a little bigger and still be safe.

When I select my workwear, I like to think about how I want to feel while in the office. If you know me by now, you know the basis of my style is to be effortlessly cute and comfortable. If I’m not able to be comfortable and confident in my outfit, then it’s a no go for me.

Clothes: When selecting your workwear clothes, go for a great fit, conservative coverage, and style! Dresses should be knee-length (sleeveless is fine as long as your tatts aren’t visible). Everything should fit properly (not too big & definitely not too tight). I feel anything with color is fine. It brings more personality to your workwear.

Shoes: I typically wear flats to work because I can’t be bothered with heels, but both would be great. If you go for heels, pick a conservative height (3.5 inches and lower) If you choose flats, make sure they’re closed-toe flats such as the ones shown above.

Thankfully Dia & Co gifted me a style box with this beautiful dress included. The Ortega dress is not only simple and can be styled with great accessories but it is an affordable piece that is perfect for the office. At a great price of $49 and available in 4 different colors, this is the perfect dress to add to your workwear and you will be sure to wear it often.

If you still need a little more help with building your workwear wardrobe, I would definitely suggest signing up for the Dia & Co style box. It is extremely helpful in creating your personal style. There is only a $20 styling fee to get started that is also applied to your purchase, and you get 25% off the entire price when you decide to keep all the items in your box.
