What I Wore During The Curvy Con & NYFW

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I took a 4 day trip to New York early this month to attend the fifth annual Curvy Con event. I had an amazing time in New York, and if you’re curious about what to wear to this plus size event, then wait no more. I’m here to help honey bun 🙂

The event started on Thursday, September 5th. My best friend and I attended the welcome workout session, which might I say was a warning sign that I need to start back walking lol. Everyone went at their own pace, and we all had a great time. The Curvy Con is the perfect place for you to be yourself, be fearless, and have fun.

Anyway, I wore a pair of maroon leggings from Fabletics (similar), a lilac Zeba shirt, and some grey Sketchers (similar). Not only was I cute, but I was comfortable enough to give my all during our workout. Even with all the heavy breathing and sweating, I had a blast.

On day 2 of The Curvy Con, I was ready to make more of a statement. This was the day of fashion shows and shopping, so I knew I was ready to do a little more with my wardrobe. I took some old items I had laying around my closet and paired them with a new item I had purchased. See you don’t have to empty your wallet to look bomb at The Curvy Con.

I paired this new mesh off the shoulder dress from Rebdolls (similar), with some older workout leggings from Lane Bryant, and a black lace Estel bra from Sculptresse. For the beginning of the day, I wore these very comfortable ankle heel sandals from Target, but after pictures I changed into some point toe black flats that were also from Target. I received so many compliments on this outfit that I lost count. This was by far my favorite!

On day 3 of The Curvy Con, we took part in attending a few of the panels that were lined up. I got a chance to see one of my favorite YouTubers, Nabela Noor, and I learned so much from some of the panel speakers.

Since this was a relaxed day, I wore something cute but more casual than my day 2 outfit. Honestly, the entire outfit was from Target, and very affordable…now you guys know one of my favorite places to shop 🙂

I paired this satin V-neck top, with a black pleated skirt and accent belt. Then to add a little pop to my “something casual”, I included these leopard ankle strapped flats which were very comfortable might I add.

Later that night, we decided to strut about the town. So, to not waste any outfits, I decided to throw on this print shirt from Target (not yet available online) that I just purchased while at The Curvy Con, some light wash jeans from ASOS, and the same ankle strapped heels from Target that I wore on day 2. Don’t worry, I changed shoes after this picture lol, I will not walk the streets of New York in heels!

All in all I had an amazing time at The Curvy Con, and encourage all of my plus size babes to attend this event and enjoy yourselves. This is not just for fashion bloggers, brands, and industry professionals. The Curvy Con is for all women and men to come and enjoy. So, definitely head to the event site, and sign up to their newsletter so you can stay in the know for next year.
