So, I went to the Curvy Con for the first time this year and I can not begin to tell you guys how excited I was. CeCe Olisa and Chastity Garner decided to host the event during NYFW. It feels so surreal to see plus size beauties in clothes fit for a queen and walking these New York streets. We were killing it beside straight size women in main stream fashion. Being around these women with so much confidence and spunk makes me really appreciate the day I decided to become apart of this community.
So do you guys want to know what we did on our first day of Curvy Con?
I made it to my beautiful hotel, Row NYC, on Thursday tired and hungry from a days travel. Being that the hotel was conveniently placed right across the street from the very popular Shake Shack, I decided to get me a burger and bacon-cheddar fries to settle my hunger pain. My food followed by some cable watching and nap taking made for a wonderful cure to jet lag.
Friday morning I attended the workout class held by Target. Being in a room with other curvy and plus size beauties while preparing for a great workout was so empowering. Everyone was very comfortable in this non-judgmental zone. Can you believe the class was lead by the great Massiel Arias?
After a quick shower and freshening, we joined the Target team in a brunch for the platinum ticket holders. I was able to catch up with some great friends and also meet some great girl bosses that have inspired me since day one. I also learned how awkward I can be when meeting new people lol. But I’m sure God will provide me a cure for that.

Oh and honey, I could not forget about the deep shopping we got into. There were some great vendor options such as Eloquii, Dia & Co., Ashley Stewart, Fashion to Figure, and so much more.

Dia & Co. presented the most professional, beautiful, and style inspirational fashion show I have ever seen. Watching plus size models rip the runway in trendy fashion fit for our curves opened up new levels for me. It helped me realize why I chose this blog as a second job, and also gave me confidence that what I do is needed for the plus size community.
We wrapped up the night at the Macy’s platinum party. There was great food, great conversation, and some line dancing of course. It was a wonderful way to end a very eventful night.
