In Atlanta with TCF Style Expo

It feels like I haven’t written a post for you guys in so long, but be prepared for a quick cram session. I spent this morning in my bed full of white sheets and fluffy pillows to be just about dead to the world. My mission after this trip to TCF Style Expo was to catch up on the three weeks of sleep that I have been missing. I can’t begin to tell y’all how good it felt to wake up not by an alarm, but by the sunlight shining through my sheer white curtains…look at God!

This was my second year attending this great event, and it never seems to disappoint. Not only is TCF Style Expo in my favorite city in the world, it’s full of wonderful men and women that I  can connect with through similar interest. I got the chance to connect with entrepreneurs, creators, bloggers, and so many other incredible people. Oh did I mention that Marie picked the best venue for this event?

To say that mostly everyone was very approachable and had positive attitudes would be an understatement. We were in an atmosphere where a woman I have never laid eyes on was comfortable enough to walk over to a table where me and my friend Troi sat and say “Hi, my name is Laura”. Eighty percent of the time I am a laid back person, but I felt very comfortable to spark a conversation with women I have never met before.

My favorite part of the expo were the speaking panels. I have learned the most when I just sit quietly and listen to others experiences and struggles not only being a plus size women, but being a plus size entrepreneur. I have always enjoyed hearing other people’s stories, so getting a chance to try and place my self in their shoes was right up my alley.

Let’s not play down the fact that this event is called The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo. There was nothing short of beautiful plus size fashion at this event. To be honest, I had to have several “come to Jesus” moments when looking at how great everyone looked this past weekend. From relaxed casual to dressy, I saw some women that know how to dress their curves fearlessly. We were able to see styles from Hanky Panky, MVP, and Dia & Co when attending the fashion shows.

I had to keep all of this in mind when dressing myself lol. I mean I can’t go to an event representing my Head to Curve family in a bad way! My favorite outfit was the one I wore on the first day of the expo. I wore an entire outfit from Rainbow with shoes from Payless. Though my outfit was nothing less than a bargain, I feel that I did fairly well in representing you guys…what do y’all think?

If you haven’t come to enjoy The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo, be sure to be on the look out for dates of next years event. You will not regret going to this very affordable event in the beautiful city of Atlanta. While you enjoy a few more pictures of my trip to Atlanta for TCF Style Expo, don’t hesitate to ask any questions about this event and my experience while there.

Until Next Time My Loves,
