Have you ever been in a space where you find yourself spending crazy amounts of money on clothes? It’s like for some reason, no matter how much you buy, you never have anything to wear when getting ready for work, an event or even just trying to run some daily errands while still looking cute.
I’ve been in that same space lately. It has gotten to the point that I don’t know where any of my new items are, because they are buried underneath all of my old clothes. I’m not going to discuss how frustrating that can be when I’m trying to figure out what to wear to work…hmph looks like I just did.
Anywho, so I challenged myself not to spend any money on clothing for the rest of the year. Y’all know this is October right? That means I have all of this month plus 2 more months of not refreshing this wardrobe. Needless to say my account on January 1, 2017 is going to be lit with retail shops and online stores!
Great thing about this challenge is it allows me to practice styling on the clothes I already have, which will be a great trait to learn before I constantly spend a ton of money on new clothes and accessories. That is how I came to style this lovely outfit. I actually like it! It seems to be cute, playful, and great at showing off these legs of mine. (outfit details below)
I paired this at least 3 or 4 year old dress from Forever 21 with a long sleeve shirt I also got from Forever 21 many years ago. The weather in Houston this day was beautiful! There was a little cool breeze, but the temperature was so inviting. This outfit helped me be neither hot or cold, but just right. I paired everything with these Christian Siriano heels from Payless, which were extremely affordable and very comfortable. What do you guys think about this outfit? Did I do a good job?

Gorgeous outfit! Raises hand I’ve definitely been there spending crazy money on clothes and still "have nothing to wear". Like you, I’m shopping my closet now and rediscovering things that have been there a while or new with tags. Love your style 😆
Thanks love! I’m glad to see I’m not the only one 😆 shopping through your closet is a God sent. I’m going to see how I do with not buying clothes until next year cringe lol.
